Clerk/Checker

Seeking casuals for check-on dispatch work for the Port of Tampa/Manatee. Must be eager to learn, have a driver's license, be able to adapt quickly, be attentive and aware of surroundings, be able to work alone or with a team and MUST show up when accepting a job.

Some job duties include:

• Hatch check break-bulk cargo vessels and appropriately label cargo

• Assist Chief Clerk in the yard during vessel operations verifying accurately marked material, sorting mixes, tallying cargo

• Work with forklift operators in the warehouse to accurately load trucks with cargo

• Operate vehicles (golf cart, company car) for warehouse operations and/or container terminal operations

• Use company software via tablets/computers to input trucking information/ cargo ticket information

MUST HAVE:

Hard hat, steel toe boots, clip board, safety vest/glasses, pens/markers, must be able to work in all weather conditions, work pants No Shorts and MUST be able to acquire a TWIC card through Identogo.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $26.00 - $51.00 per hour
