Client Accounting Manager

Are you a Senior Accountant ready to step into management, or an Accounting Manager looking for greater ownership and progression?

We're partnering with a growing CPA firm in Plano that has doubled its headcount over the past few years and is now looking for an ambitious Client Accounting Manager to lead its Client Accounting Services function.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established client portfolio, lead a small team and play a key role in developing a modern, technology-driven accounting and advisory practice.

The Role

• Oversee client accounting services, including full month-end close, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules and financial reporting.
• Review financial statements and ensure accurate, timely delivery to clients.
• Manage and develop a team of two, with scope to expand as the practice grows.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing practical accounting guidance and support.
• Improve accounting processes, workflows and efficiencies, including opportunities to leverage AI and automation.
• Gain exposure to assurance engagements and contribute to the development of advisory and fractional CFO services.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience managing the full month-end close process .
• QuickBooks experience is essential.
• Background in a CPA firm, outsourced accounting or Client Accounting Services (CAS), ideally supporting multiple small-business clients.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, financial statement preparation and US GAAP.
• CPA qualified or actively working towards CPA licensure.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Previous supervisory experience advantageous, although ambitious Senior Accountants ready for their first management role are encouraged to apply.
• Interest in AI, automation and improving accounting processes.

Previous audit or assurance experience is advantageous but not essential.

Location: Plano, TX, primarily onsite, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with some flexibility around working hours.
