Client Accounting Services (CAS) Manager

We are partnering with an established public accounting firm seeking a Client Accounting Services (CAS) Department Manager to lead and expand its CAS practice.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven track record of building, scaling, or transforming a CAS or outsourced accounting practice.

The successful candidate will play a key role in evolving traditional bookkeeping services into a strategic, client advisory-focused offering. Working closely with firm leadership, you will shape the department's strategy, develop scalable processes, lead a high-performing team, and drive long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall strategy, structure, and growth of the Client Accounting Services practice.
• Oversee client advisory engagements and act as a trusted advisor to key clients.
• Develop and implement scalable workflows, service standards, and best practices across the department.
• Lead, mentor, and develop CAS managers, supervisors, and team members.
• Partner with firm leadership to develop pricing strategies, expand service offerings, and identify growth opportunities.
• Drive the transition from traditional bookkeeping services to a more strategic, advisory-focused CAS model.
• Establish efficient processes and scalable service delivery models to support continued growth.
• Ensure high standards of client service, accounting accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and technology adoption.
• Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring resources and service delivery align with business objectives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in accounting and Client Accounting Services (CAS).
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership or senior management role within CAS or outsourced accounting.
• Proven experience building, scaling, or transforming a CAS, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, payroll, and outsourced accounting services.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing multiple client engagements.
• Experience developing processes, service models, and operational strategies to support business growth.
• Strong client advisory, relationship management, and communication skills.
• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to drive change and innovation.
• CPA certification or a similar professional qualification preferred.
