Location: Malta | Full-time | Office Based

We are currently recruiting for a Client Accounts Manager to join the Central Services team of a leading international financial services business in Malta.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a background in client accounting, fiduciary services or a similar environment to take on a senior role with responsibility for financial reporting, client relationships and team leadership.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Client Accounting Manager, the Client Accounts Manager will oversee the preparation, review and delivery of financial statements for a portfolio of client entities, including trusts and companies.

The role combines technical accounting expertise with client relationship management and people leadership, with responsibility for ensuring high-quality financial reporting and consistently high levels of client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation, review and quality control of financial statements and other accounting deliverables.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
• Manage, prioritise and allocate workloads across the team to ensure client deadlines and internal service standards are consistently achieved.
• Oversee the bookkeeping function, providing technical guidance and ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, intermediaries and professional advisers on accounting matters, including complex technical queries.
• Participate in client and prospective client meetings and support relationship management and business development activities where required.
• Lead, coach and mentor a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants.
• Conduct performance reviews and appraisals, providing constructive feedback and supporting the professional development of team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, operational efficiency and best practices.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international accounting standards and relevant filing requirements.
• Research and resolve technical accounting matters using appropriate resources and professional judgement.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A relevant professional accounting qualification, such as ACA or ACCA .
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience .
• Experience gained within a client accounting environment or a similar role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and an understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to meeting client needs and addressing technical developments.
• The ability to research, analyse and resolve complex technical accounting matters.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure with moderate supervision.
