What they need

Want to build a career in agency client service? Start here.

The Garden is looking for an Account Executive to join our Client Experience team.

This is an entry-level agency role for someone with around 6–18 months' marketing experience who is organised, confident, curious and keen to learn how great client relationships and great marketing work come together.

You might already be working in an agency and looking for broader exposure, or you may be client-side in a marketing role and ready to make the move into agency life. Either way, you'll get exposure to clients, projects and specialists across performance marketing, creative, content, strategy and technology, while learning from an experienced Client Experience team.

What you'll be doing

You'll work alongside our Client Managers, Senior Client Managers and Client Partners to help keep client projects moving, communication clear and great work getting out the door.

You'll:

  • Attend client meetings and help manage actions, follow-ups and next steps
  • Build relationships with clients and gradually take on more ownership as your confidence and capability grow
  • Coordinate projects, timelines, briefs, approvals and deliverables
  • Work across digital performance campaigns, creative and content projects
  • Keep a close eye on deadlines and make sure nothing gets lost between teams
  • Work with our performance, media, creative, content, strategy and technology specialists
  • Help prepare client reporting, presentations and campaign updates
  • Support the development of briefs and make sure internal teams have what they need to deliver great work
  • Spot potential roadblocks early and proactively help solve them
  • Learn how commercial objectives, marketing strategy and campaign performance connect
  • Use AI and new tools to make your work smarter, faster and better
  • Ask lots of questions, take feedback on board and keep building your skills

You don't need to know everything yet. We're much more interested in your attitude, potential and willingness to learn.

You'll probably have:

  • Around 6–18 months' experience in an agency or marketing environment
  • Ideally some experience in an advertising, digital or marketing agency, smaller agencies are particularly relevant because you may already have had broad exposure
  • Alternatively, client-side marketing experience involving agencies, campaigns, timelines or project coordination
  • Exposure to digital or performance marketing; creative and content experience is also valuable
  • Strong organisation skills and an ability to stay across lots of moving pieces
  • Confidence communicating with different people
  • Great attention to detail
  • A proactive approach you're comfortable asking questions rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • A client-first mindset and genuine interest in understanding what clients are trying to achieve
  • Curiosity about AI and an openness to using new tools in your work
  • Most importantly, a genuine desire to learn, improve and grow

Where can the role take you?

This isn't intended to be an Account Executive role forever.

Our Client Experience career pathway is:

Account Executive → Client Manager → Senior Client Manager → Client Partner

You'll start by learning the foundations of great project management and client service. As you develop, you'll take on greater responsibility for meetings, projects, strategy and eventually your own client relationships. We like people who are hungry to grow, and internal progression has always been an important part of the Account Executive role.

Why The Garden?

For 15 years, we've worked with brands navigating high-consideration customer journeys. Today, our teams bring together strategy, creative, media and technology to help clients move faster and make smarter marketing decisions. For someone early in their career, that means exposure.

You'll have the opportunity to learn from people across different disciplines, work across a broad mix of clients and see what happens from the moment a client has an idea through to strategy, execution, optimisation and results. We value people who are curious, take ownership, share what they know and are willing to keep learning.

And because learning happens faster when you're around the people you're learning from, this role works four days a week from our Collingwood office, with one day working remotely.

A little different?

Good.

We believe strong teams come from different perspectives, experiences and ways of thinking. If you have the attitude and potential we're looking for but don't tick every box above, we'd still like to hear from you.

Great systems amplifying great people.

Other offers great for you!
