What they need

Can you turn a business growth goal into a resource plan, then lead the team that delivers it?

Can you resolve today’s scheduling problem while building the capacity to prevent the next one?

Are you a leader…….that personally executes while “being in the mix”?

CRC Salomon is hiring a Client Operations Manager, Court Reporting to lead client scheduling and court reporter resource operations. Reporting directly to Robert Deziel, Chief Operating Officer, you will partner with him on business planning and own departmental execution. That means anticipating demand, developing the team, protecting service quality, and building the resource capacity to support profitable growth.

You must be able to perform both scheduling functions yourself, coach others to do them well, and make sound decisions when client needs, resource availability, and deadlines compete. You are a people leader, driving a team located both locally and remotely throughout the U.S. and internationally.

To Apply

Email the following to Shannon Linville, Hiring Manager, at [email protected]:

  • Your resume and LinkedIn Profile (if you have one)
  • A brief video recording answering: “Why do you believe you would be a strong fit for the Client Operations Manager, Court Reporting role at CRC Salomon?”

Use any recording method you prefer. Attach the recording or include a link, and confirm that we can access it.

About CRC Salomon

Founded in 1898, CRC Salomon is one of the nation’s first court reporting companies. We serve law firms, courts, government agencies, and businesses through court reporting, transcription, legal video, and remote proceedings. We are strengthening leadership over client scheduling and resource operations to support growth while maintaining the accuracy and dependability our clients expect.

What you will do

  • Partner with the COO: Translate business priorities into operating plans with clear owners and milestones. Bring data, recommendations, progress updates, and specific roadblocks to leadership discussions, then carry agreed decisions through to completion.
  • Lead the department: Set priorities across client scheduling and resource management. Coach performance, delegate effectively, develop team capability, and hold people accountable for service and execution. Participate in hiring and onboarding.
  • Own client scheduling: Oversee requests from intake through confirmation and follow-through. Ensure proceeding details, time zones, locations or virtual platforms, client preferences, service requirements, and changes are captured accurately in ReporterBase/RB9.
  • Secure qualified coverage: Match court reporters, videographers, interpreters, and other resources to assignments based on qualifications, jurisdiction, availability, location, client needs, and cost. Review upcoming work, arrange backups, and resolve gaps before the proceeding.
  • Forecast and recruit ahead: Connect sales plans and market expansion to staffing and contractor needs over the coming weeks and months. Lead resource recruiting, onboarding, and retention, build reporter relationships, and participate in rate discussions within approved guidelines.
  • Handle escalations and provide coverage: Lead resolution of client and reporter issues, cancellations, and urgent changes. Communicate clearly until the issue is resolved. Personally handle scheduling or resource assignments when coverage or team development requires it.
  • Coordinate across departments: Work with Production, Billing, Sales, and case management to ensure accurate job instructions, transcript orders, delivery requirements, and handoffs. Resolve ownership gaps and keep commitments visible.
  • Improve systems and workflows: Strengthen RB9 use, shared-inbox management, data quality, procedures, and training. Apply practical technology and AI tools where they improve work while protecting accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage measurable performance: Track response and confirmation times, assignment coverage, scheduling accuracy, recruiting progress, resource capacity, and cost. Identify trends, implement corrective action, and report how the department is supporting service, growth, and profitability.

What we are looking for

  • People leadership: Demonstrated success setting expectations, coaching employees, delegating work, and improving team performance. You can point to results delivered through others.
  • Relevant operating experience: Court reporting or litigation support experience is strongly preferred. We will consider legal-services professionals, including paralegals or legal assistants with substantive leadership experience, and staffing/recruiting operations leaders who demonstrate transferable judgment.
  • Scheduling and resource judgment: Experience coordinating time-sensitive work, managing competing requirements, and resolving service disruptions. You understand what dependable support means to attorneys and other professional clients.
  • Business ownership: You connect daily decisions to capacity, cost, client retention, and growth. You turn goals into practical plans and follow through without needing each step prescribed.
  • Credibility and constructive challenge: You build trust with experienced staff and independent professionals, explain your recommendations clearly, welcome direct feedback, and challenge assumptions with evidence.
  • Technical capability: Comfort with Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, plus scheduling or resource-management systems. ReporterBase/RB9 experience is preferred. You use data to make decisions and can evaluate practical uses of AI and automation.

Why work with us

Work directly with the COO to shape departmental plans and lead their execution. Apply your experience in an established business expanding its capacity and reach. CRC values teamwork, integrity, clear communication, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base compensation based on relevant experience and qualifications.
  • Discretionary annual bonus potential tied to company performance.
  • Potential for an additional role-specific incentive tied to revenue growth and profitability, with structure and terms to be finalized.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with CRC contributing 50% of eligible premiums, including eligible dependent coverage.
  • An HSA option with an eligible medical plan.
  • A 401(k) retirement plan with a company match.
  • 80 hours of annual paid time off, plus paid holidays.

Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements, waiting periods, and plan terms. Bonuses and additional incentives are not guaranteed.

Location and schedule

This is a full-time W-2 position. Pikesville, Maryland is preferred; however, strong hybrid or U.S. remote candidates will be considered based on experience, location, and business needs.

Your schedule must support our Monday through Friday Eastern-time operation, with usual business hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You are responsible for ensuring service coverage, including evenings or weekends when needed.
