About the Role

McTear’s is a long-established auction house, with a busy calendar of sales. Our Client Services staff provide a high level of customer care and essential administrative support across many aspects of the auction house.

Role responsibilities:

• Welcome clients to the Glasgow Auction Galleries
• Communicate with clients by phone and email as well as face to face
• Undertake admin work and handle information with care
• Maintain the tidiness of the busy valuation counter
• Be involved in pre- and post-auction tasks as well as sale day duties
• Represent the company in a friendly and professional manner

Role requirements:

• Excellent communication and customer skills
• Handling cash and card transactions
• Be organised, attentive to detail, proactive, follow direction and use initiative when needed
• Be positive, friendly and reliable
• Previous experience in client services/customer facing roles would be desirable but not essential; training will be provided

Hours and Pay

Typical working hours are:

Monday-Wednesday 8.30am-5pm

Thursday 8.30am-7pm

Friday 8.30am-3pm

Saturday 9.30am-12pm on a rota basis, working two Saturdays in four.

With changes and additional hours as needed.

Salary dependent on experience.
