What they need

If you thrive on variety, love making people's lives easier, and get genuinely excited about finding smarter ways to get things done, keep reading.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

You'll be the go-to person for multiple clients from small business owners, to tradies, coaches and solo operators who are brilliant at what they do, but are drowning in the admin that comes with running a business.

Your job isn't just to do the work. It's to figure out the smartest way to get it done.

That means proactively getting work off clients, delegating what you can to our wider team, and automating what doesn't need a human touching it at all. You would only complete the work that's left after all of that.

You don't need to come in knowing how to build automations, but you do need to be genuinely curious, willing to learn, and ready to use those skills once you have them.

You're not just working through a to-do list, you're constantly asking "should I be doing this, or should someone (or something) else?" It takes a bit of getting used to, but once it clicks, it changes how you work for good.

Day to Day, You'll Be:

  • Acting as a virtual PA for clients (calendar management, inbox wrangling, maybe some invoicing support, general "make life easier" stuff)
  • Building real relationships with clients and being their trusted first point of contact
  • Delegating work across our team and staying across what's happening with it
  • Learning and using automation and AI tools to reduce repetitive work for clients

You'll Fit Right In If You Have:

  • Experience in an EA, PA, or similar juggle-everything roles
  • The ability to task-switch with efficiency. While this role will have a focus on bookkeeping, it will be varied with some admin/PA-type tasks as well
  • Tech confidence. We use a lot of tools, and you need to be comfortable figuring out ones new to you
  • Excellent communication skills (zero fear of Zoom or picking up the phone)
  • An interest in AI, even if you're not experienced yet. (If you've already played around with tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or Claude, that'll give you a head start)
  • An interest in learning automation (again, you don't need experience but this will be something you learn on the job)
  • Xero bookkeeping experience would be a massive advantage

Location:

We're based in Trentham, Upper Hutt. If you're in the Hutt Valley or Wellington, you'd be in the office Tuesday to Thursday with Monday and Friday from home. If you're somewhere else in New Zealand and you're genuinely exeptional, we're open to a fully remote arrangement.

What's In It For You?

Look, we could tell you we have a fun and hardworking team, but we all know that's what every job ad says before they lure you in and then hand you a pizza voucher once a year.

Here's what we actually offer:

  • A bonus scheme - because good work should be rewarded. When the biz wins, you share in the win.
  • Health insurance - plus for any claims, we'll pay half your excess.
  • Discounted access to our founder's Airbnb in Ohakune (yes it has a spa pool).
  • Learning and development - you'll get hands-on experience with AI and automation and a range of other tools.
  • A team that values collaboration, support, and a good laugh along the way - because problem-solving is way easier when you’ve got smart, supportive people around you, but yeah you’ll have to put up with the occasional cringey gif in our team chat.
  • Hybrid working - you'd work 3 days from our Trentham, Upper Hutt office, and a couple from home (if you'd like) in your comfiest hoodie.

A bit about us:

How To Apply (And Prove You Read This):

Before you hit send on your application:

  1. Attach your CV and a cover letter that tells us why you’re the right fit, and how soon you can start
  2. Complete this DiSC personality test and include a screenshot of the pie chart result: https://www.123test.com/disc-personality-test/
  3. Find the spelling mistake in this job ad and mention it in your cover letter.

Looking forward to seeing if you’re the one!

Other offers great for you!
