Climate Risk Data Analyst

Provide a short description of the position:

Analysts will use Excel and, if needed, statistical packages to conduct background research related to climate/regulatory topics and support data cleaning and analysis to analyze clients' climate risk and its impacts on client regulated entities and the communities they serve. The analyst will also track division-wide project progress and completion. These tasks will inform and support policy development.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the selected candidate:

Source, clean, and structure data to import to R and Excel; use MS Excel/statistical packages (R, Stata, Python/Pandas) to analyze and manipulate data, and synthesize and summarize findings in Word for briefing memos. Leverage Excel and other tools to track and follow up on division projects. Interact/collaborate with client staff and other partners.

Requested Qualification

Experience you have in months

36 months of experience cleaning and organizing data, using Excel

36 months of experience working with large datasets (100K to 1M+ rows) using MS Excel or similar tools

36 months of experience with sourcing publicly available data

24 months of experience using statistical packages, like R, Stata, and pandas, to analyse data

36 months experience with MS Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software

24 months of experience tracking and/or coordinating projects

Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, public policy, climate, or related disciplines

36 months of experience working collaboratively in matrixed teams while managing stakeholder relationships. For example, working on or owning a component of a project with multiple owners, requiring sign-off from separate divisions

12 months of experience in climate-related topics or climate-related financial risks

12 months of experience in financial services (banking, insurance, etc.) related topics
