Climbing Instructor – F51, Folkestone

Pay: £14 per hour

Hours: Full time shift pattern

At F51, part of The Sports Trust, we’re looking for a qualified Climbing Instructor to join our climbing team. You’ll bring enthusiasm, sound technical skills and a welcoming approach, helping everyone from first-time climbers to regular visitors enjoy a safe and rewarding experience.

The role

Working with our Head of Climbing, you’ll:

• Deliver engaging climbing instruction, coaching and group sessions within your qualifications and assessed competence.
• Help climbers build confidence, develop their technique and enjoy their time at F51.
• Complete participant briefings, equipment checks and session preparation.
• Supervise climbing activities, reinforce safe practice and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Support the day-to-day running of the climbing centre, including equipment hire, housekeeping and customer enquiries.
• Follow our safeguarding, safety and emergency procedures.

About you

You must already hold an assessed Climbing Wall Instructor (CWI) qualification. Completion of the CWI training course alone is not sufficient.

• Communicates clearly and makes people feel welcome.
• Has a strong commitment to safety and knows the limits of their own competence.
• Enjoys working with children, young people and adults of different abilities.
• Is reliable, approachable and works well as part of a team.
• Can work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and school holidays.

Previous experience delivering climbing sessions and a current first aid qualification would be an advantage. Any additional activities will depend on your qualifications, experience and internal sign-off.
