About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join the team at KLINIK IR in Senai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our clinical facility and ensuring that patients receive excellent care and service. As a Clinic Assistant, you will be at the heart of our healthcare delivery, providing essential administrative and clinical support to our medical team whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting patients upon arrival and ensuring they complete necessary registration and medical history forms
• Scheduling patient appointments and maintaining the clinic appointment system efficiently
• Assisting nursing staff with basic patient care tasks, including vital signs monitoring such as blood pressure, temperature and pulse measurements
• Preparing examination rooms and ensuring all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and properly sterilised
• Supporting clinical procedures by assisting medical professionals with patient positioning, specimen collection and wound dressing procedures
• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and medical documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations
• Performing general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, phone management and correspondence
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe clinic environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Sterilising and maintaining medical instruments and equipment
• Responding to patient enquiries with courtesy and professionalism, providing information about clinic services and procedures
• Assisting with inventory management and ordering medical supplies as required

What we're looking for

• Secondary education or equivalent qualification; completion of formal training in healthcare support or clinic assistance is advantageous
• Basic knowledge of healthcare principles, medical terminology and clinical procedures relevant to general medical and surgical nursing environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to multitask in a busy clinical setting
• Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with patient records and documentation
• Physical fitness and ability to perform duties that may require standing for extended periods, lifting and assisting patients
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare data protection regulations
• A caring and empathetic approach to patient interaction with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Willingness to maintain high standards of personal hygiene and infection control practices
• Previous experience as a clinic assistant, healthcare support worker or in a similar healthcare support role is preferred but not essential for the right candidate
