Clinical Director

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead our behavioral health services. This vital role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and guiding a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and support staff. The Clinical Director will oversee clinical operations, support staff development, ensure quality patient care, and maintain compliance with applicable Massachusetts regulations and licensing requirements.

Duties

• Oversee intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and ongoing patient care for individuals.
• Manage clinical operations including documentation in electronic health records (EHR), medical records management, CPT coding for billing purposes, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Develop and implement treatment programs utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and group therapy tailored to individual needs.
• Handle crisis management situations promptly through crisis intervention strategies; ensure safety protocols are followed consistently.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; supervise medical documentation processes ensuring accuracy in medical terminology.
• Oversee daily clinical operations.
• Supervise and support clinicians and other clinical staff.
• Ensure quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered treatment.
• Oversee clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
• Monitor clinical documentation, medical necessity, and compliance with applicable Massachusetts regulations and BSAS requirements.
• Lead clinical case reviews, quality assurance activities, and staff training.
• Support crisis assessment, risk management, and appropriate referrals to higher levels of care.
• Collaborate with program leadership, referral sources, and community providers.
• Promote a respectful, recovery-oriented environment that reduces stigma and supports patient engagement.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts LMHC,LICSW or equivalent license required.
• Extensive knowledge of behavioral health treatments such as CBT, behavioral management techniques, addiction counseling, trauma-informed care including PTSD management.
• Demonstrated expertise in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies within clinical settings.
• Supervisory experience leading clinical teams; strong management skills with the ability to motivate staff toward excellence in patient care.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical records management; proficiency in CPT coding for billing processes.
• Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders—mental health conditions combined with substance use issues—and diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Ability to conduct intake assessments accurately; skilled in individual/group counseling sessions across various modalities including psychotherapy and child & family counseling.
• Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) for diagnostic classification; experience working within hospital or community-based settings preferred.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
