Clinical Exercise Physiologist

• Assess patients in a logical and sequential manner
• Prescribe and implement exercise programs tailored for patients with chronic disease, incorporating behavioural coaching, health education and lifestyle counselling to improve overall patient health
• Manage patients with chronic and lifestyle-health related conditions, using current available scientific evidence, ensuring patient safety and effectiveness of intervention
• Analyse and correct patients’ exercise form, demonstrating sound clinical reasoning
• Facilitate patients’ recovery in returning to sport or function
• Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting exercise plans as needed
• Conduct exercise testing using medical equipment to assess patient health and fitness levels
• Prepare and maintain records and reports as appropriate, ensuring adherence to confidentiality requirements
• Participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team via attending relevant meetings, and in research and work improvement activities
• Contribute to achievement of departmental action plan, collaborating with internal and external clients in a professional manner
• Contribute to learning and growth through active participation in clinical education and clinical training activities
• Supervise and facilitate learning of support staff/ students/ junior staff/ peers, as required

Job Requirements

• Degree in Exercise and Sports Science/ Exercise Science/ Exercise Physiology or equivalent
• Experience working with patients in a clinical setting and understanding of chronic disease and conditions preferred
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
