Clinical Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an organised, experienced and patient-focused Clinical Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clinic. The successful candidate will manage clinical and administrative teams, ensure regulatory compliance, improve clinic processes and help deliver a high standard of patient care.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a healthcare or clinical environment, with a good understanding of clinical governance, compliance and outpatient or surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the clinic and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Coordinate clinical, surgical and administrative teams.
• Ensure appointments, procedures and patient pathways are managed efficiently.
• Monitor clinical stock and supplies, including surgical kits, equipment and consumables.
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.

Compliance & Clinical Governance

• Maintain compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including CQC and HIW, where applicable.
• Prepare and maintain policies, procedures, records and evidence required for inspections and audits.
• Carry out risk assessments, infection control checks and internal quality audits.
• Promote a strong culture of patient safety, clinical governance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure staff follow relevant clinical policies and procedures.

Patient Experience & Care Coordination

• Act as a key point of contact for patient concerns, feedback and complaints.
• Work closely with surgeons, clinicians and medical directors to support high-quality patient care.
• Ensure appropriate pre- and post-operative patient pathways are followed.
• Help maintain high standards of patient communication and customer service.

Financial & Operational Management

• Monitor operational budgets, expenses and supplier costs.
• Support the management of local supplier relationships and contracts.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and clinic performance.
• Review operational and clinical data and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Monitor relevant patient retention, conversion and performance trends.

Requirements & Experience

• 3–5 years' experience managing a healthcare facility, clinic or clinical environment.
• Previous experience in a Clinical Manager, Practice Manager, Registered Manager or similar role.
• Strong understanding of healthcare compliance and clinical governance.
• Experience with CQC and/or HIW requirements is highly desirable.
• Experience working within a surgical, outpatient, aesthetic or private healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Good understanding of electronic health records (EHR), practice management and appointment scheduling systems.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable

• NMC Registered Nurse or other relevant clinical registration.
• Healthcare administration or management qualification.
• Previous experience in a CQC Registered Manager role.
• Experience in surgical, aesthetic or outpatient clinical services.
