Clinical Nurse Supervisor

Duties

• Oversee daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality patient care aligned with hospital policies and healthcare standards.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering professional development and team cohesion.
• Coordinate patient assessments, medical documentation, and care planning utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state healthcare regulations, long-term care regulations, and nursing policy standards.
• Manage clinical workflows including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and tube feeding protocols.
• Lead incident investigations, incident reports, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes across acute care, critical care, geriatrics, behavioral health, or pediatric settings.

Qualifications

• Valid RN licensure with current state registration; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Extensive clinical experience in critical care (ICU/Level I Trauma Center), medical-surgical units or specialized areas such as dialysis or neonatal intensive care (NICU).
• Proven supervisory or nurse management experience leading teams in complex healthcare environments.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and medical documentation standards.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, infection control practices and medical terminology.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; dementia or memory care experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical examinations, specimen collection/processing, sterile techniques such as suturing and spinal taps.
• Excellent managerial communication skills combined with a thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent required; additional certifications such as IV insertion or ventilator management are advantageous.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
