Clinical Partnerships Contractor (Temporary Contract)

  • Company: CDI College
  • Location: Alberta, Canada (Hybrid / Remote with Regional Travel)
  • Job Type: Temporary / Contract

About The Role

CDI College is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and relationship-focused Clinical Partnerships Contractor to support the development and management of practicum opportunities for students enrolled in the Practical Nursing (PN) program in Alberta.

The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, engage, qualify, and onboard healthcare organizations and practicum hosts willing and able to provide appropriate clinical placements for PN students. The Contractor will manage the complete operational lifecycle—from initial outreach through organizational qualification, documentation, affiliation agreement completion, and ongoing relationship management.

Contract Term & Compensation

This is a temporary project-based position established to develop and execute the practicum partnership strategy required for the launch of CDI College's Practical Nursing program in Alberta.

  • Base Salary: $5,000 per month (paid monthly), initially structured for a maximum term of (12) months.
  • Per-Placement Incentive: $500 for each fully qualified and secured clinical placement letter / executed affiliation agreement.
  • Milestone Success Bonus: A $5,000 lump-sum bonus upon successfully achieving the aggregate clinical capacity required for the proposed PN intake (tied to the target of 16 active partner agreements).
  • Travel & Expenses: Pre-approved travel and mileage expenses incurred while visiting healthcare organizations across Alberta will be reimbursed in accordance with corporate policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practicum Host Outreach & Development: Identify, research, and engage potential PN practicum host organizations throughout Alberta (hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health agencies) via telephone, email, LinkedIn, and professional networking.
  • Host Qualification & Onboarding: Pre-screen prospective organizations, collect required documentation, coordinate internal approvals, and manage the affiliation agreement process from initial interest to final signature.
  • Agreement Tracking & Compliance: Maintain a centralized tracking system for prospective and approved organizations, tracking all pipeline stages while escalating compliance or legal concerns as needed.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary operational point of contact for host organizations, maintaining regular communication to foster long-term partnerships and expand placement volume.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor student placement demand, anticipate capacity shortages, and proactively prioritize outreach based on geographic needs and program requirements.
  • Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM and database records for all prospective and approved partners, delivering regular reports on outreach metrics and KPIs.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the National Director of Student Experience, Campus Directors, Career Services, PN Program leadership, Academic teams, and Compliance to streamline approval workflows.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of qualified PN practicum organizations identified, contacted, and actively engaged.
  • Number of completed affiliation agreements (Target: 16 agreements) and newly activated hosts.
  • Turnaround time from initial contact to a fully executed affiliation agreement.
  • Accuracy and completeness of the practicum host database and overall success in eliminating capacity gaps.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Career Development, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in career services, business development, partnership development, employer relations, healthcare recruitment, account management, community engagement, or practicum/placement coordination.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel regularly across Alberta to visit prospective and established host organizations.
  • Skills & Competencies: Strong business development, relationship-building, and negotiation skills; exceptional verbal and written communication; high attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and CRM/database systems.
  • Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with the Canadian post-secondary education landscape, the Alberta healthcare ecosystem, clinical placement workflows, and institutional affiliation agreements.
