Join the Cleveland Clinic team where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. You will work alongside dedicated caregivers, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality medication use for every patient you serve. This position requires a strong understanding of drug indications, effects, side effects, and interactions, with the ability to assess patient profiles and identify safe medication combinations. You’ll connect directly with patients through counseling and follow-up calls, provide expert drug information, and review medication orders—including oral and chemotherapy agents—to support appropriate dosing, frequency, and administration. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by ensuring medications are used safely and optimally.

This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role works varying shifts as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.

  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.

  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

  • Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.

  • Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.

  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire

  • For individuals required to administer immunizations, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire are required.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Board certification

  • Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience.

  • 1-2 years of oncology highly preferred.

  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology).

By taking this opportunity, you will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care, teaching and research activities. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible.

Cleveland Clinic empowers caregivers to minimize the impacts of healthcare while optimizing patient outcomes and supporting the community. The Department of Pharmacy has a "Greening the Pharmacy" initiative with the goal of leading by example and acting as stewards of our natural resources for the wellbeing of all.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision.
  • Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
