Clinical Physician 2

Duties Description To be discussed at interview.

Independently diagnoses, treats, prescribes, and provides general medical care and treatment services to incarcerated individuals, provides clinical supervision and guidance to lower level clinical physicians and other medical providers, and may manage and supervise medical services for an assigned facility, unit, or program.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for Promotional Appointment: One year of service as a Clinical Physician 1, and possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.

Note: Postgraduate training that is required to obtain full licensure would not be counted towards post-licensure medical experience. (XCS 2/23/2024)

Minimum Qualifications for Open Competitive Appointment: Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and two years of post-licensure medical experience.
