At Alden, we're committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate aged care across our villages and care homes throughout New Zealand. We are proud of the difference our teams make every day and are dedicated to creating safe, supportive environments where residents can thrive.
We're seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Quality & Improvement Advisor to join our team in this permanent full-time role based at our Auckland Head Office. Supporting our northern facilities, you will play a key role in strengthening clinical governance, enhancing quality systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that positively impact resident outcomes.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with operational and clinical leadership teams across the region, providing expert guidance, coaching, and support to ensure excellence in clinical practice. Regular travel throughout the upper North Island will be required.
About the Role
As the Clinical Quality & Improvement Advisor, you will provide clinical leadership and quality oversight across Alden's northern operations. Working collaboratively with Regional Managers, Facility Managers, and Clinical Services Managers, you will support the delivery of safe, compliant, and resident-centred care while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
You will also maintain a specialist clinical portfolio, acting as a subject matter expert and organisational advisor within your area of expertise. This includes contributing to the development of education programmes, clinical competencies, policies, and best-practice resources that support excellence across our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Governance & Quality Leadership
Provide clinical oversight and support across facilities, ensuring effective management of risk, incidents, complaints, and compliance with legislative and organisational requirements. Monitor quality indicators and contribute to governance reporting and improvement planning. - Clinical Support & Capability Building
Partner with Clinical Services Managers and operational leaders to strengthen clinical practice, provide expert advice, and support ongoing professional development. Contribute to clinical education initiatives, quality forums, and leadership meetings. - Specialist Clinical Leadership
Act as Alden's technical advisor within your specialist area, supporting policy development, competency frameworks, education resources, and quality improvement projects that promote clinical best practice. - Resident Outcomes & Clinical Excellence
Support improved resident outcomes through clinical case reviews, residents-of-concern processes, coaching, and guidance on complex clinical issues. Work alongside clinical leaders to identify opportunities for service improvement and excellence in care delivery. - Continuous Improvement & Audit Readiness
Drive quality improvement initiatives across the region by analysing trends, supporting corrective actions, implementing audit recommendations, and assisting facilities to prepare for certification and surveillance audits. - Relationship Management & Collaboration
Develop strong partnerships with facility teams, operational leaders, and support office functions to create consistency in clinical practice and achieve quality objectives across the organisation.
About You
You'll be a credible and influential clinical professional who is passionate about quality, resident outcomes, and supporting others to succeed. You enjoy building strong relationships, providing practical solutions, and helping teams achieve excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate.
- Postgraduate qualification in nursing, clinical leadership, quality, or a related field (or working towards).
- Previous experience in aged residential care, clinical governance, quality, or operational clinical leadership.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, risk management, infection prevention and control, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, eCase, and other clinical management systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the northern region as required.
**Why Join Alden?**This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact beyond a single facility.
