Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

The Exercise Oncology Program is advancing research on how personalized exercise can reduce cancer risk and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer. Our growing portfolio includes innovative clinical trials integrating exercise interventions, patient-reported outcomes, biomarkers, and remote research activities. Clinical Research Assistants play a central role in trial operations, coordinating recruitment, screening, enrollment, participant management, study data, regulatory requirements, biospecimens, biodevices, and research logistics while partnering with investigators, exercise physiologists, clinical teams, and collaborating research sites.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Independently coordinate multiple exercise oncology research studies, managing day-to-day activities from study start-up through participant follow-up and study completion.
  • Recruit, screen, enroll, and support participants throughout their research experience while building positive relationships.
  • Coordinate study visits, required assessments, participant schedules, and other research activities to ensure study requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain complete and accurate study records, submit required research data, monitor study requirements, and communicate important changes or concerns to investigators and program leadership.
  • Coordinate study equipment and supplies including preparing, shipping, tracking, receiving, and reconciling participant study kits that include biodevices.
  • Work with biological samples and related sample kits, including preparation, shipping, tracking, and inventorying.
  • Manage and review research data, identify missing or inconsistent information, and support study-specific data projects and analyses.
  • Collaborate with investigators, exercise physiologists, clinical teams, participants, and collaborating research sites to keep studies running efficiently.
  • Contribute to team meetings, special projects, and continuous improvement activities, and help train and mentor newer clinical research staff.
