About Family Workshop Counseling Center
Family Workshop Counseling Center provides counseling services to individuals and families across the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho communities. Our team works with clients of all ages and a wide range of presenting concerns.
We are seeking a qualified, independently licensed mental health professional to provide clinical supervision and documentation oversight for our counseling practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinician looking for a focused supervisory role with a flexible, remote schedule and an emphasis on clinical documentation quality and compliance.
Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to review, approve, and sign off on clinical documentation in accordance with applicable licensing requirements, payer standards, and organizational policies.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, clinically sound, and comfortable working independently. This role is primarily focused on documentation review rather than maintaining a full caseload or managing the day-to-day operations of a counseling center.
Key Responsibilities
- Review clinical notes, treatment plans, assessments, and other documentation for completeness, accuracy, medical necessity, and consistency with applicable clinical and payer requirements.
- Provide required supervisory review, approval, and signatures in accordance with New Mexico licensing regulations and applicable payer requirements.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate necessary corrections to clinicians in a timely, constructive manner.
- Help maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready clinical records.
- Provide clinical guidance and consultation when documentation raises questions about treatment planning, clinical appropriateness, or standards of care.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of supervisory activities and comply with applicable confidentiality, privacy, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to improve documentation workflows and maintain timely completion of required reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active New Mexico independent clinical license appropriate to the supervisory responsibilities of the position. Potentially qualifying credentials may include LPCC, LCSW, or LMFT, subject to applicable supervision and scope-of-practice requirements.
- Experience with clinical documentation, treatment planning, and behavioral health recordkeeping.
- Familiarity with applicable professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and documentation standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to review records efficiently and consistently.
- Reliable communication and the ability to meet agreed-upon documentation review deadlines.
- Professional liability insurance (1M/3M)
Candidates must meet all applicable requirements to provide the specific supervision, approvals, and signatures assigned to this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using TherapyNotes or a similar electronic health record system.
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of independently licensed and provisionally licensed clinicians.
Schedule and Work Arrangement
We are open to a flexible arrangement for the right candidate. The role may be structured as part-time employment or an independent contractor engagement, depending on the scope of duties and the parties' working arrangement.
The schedule and compensation will be determined based on the volume of documentation, required supervisory responsibilities, availability, and qualifications. Remote documentation review may be possible, subject to privacy, security, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Why Join Family Workshop?
- A focused supervisory role with an emphasis on documentation quality.
- Flexible scheduling and the potential for remote work.
- An opportunity to support local clinicians and strengthen the quality of community mental health services.
- A collaborative working relationship with practice leadership.
- The opportunity to help improve clinical documentation processes without necessarily taking on a full client caseload.
