Clinical Trial Manager - Remote
Company Overview
We are supporting a growing biotech company developing innovative therapies and currently advancing its first-in-human clinical development programme.
The company is at an exciting stage of growth, with a small and agile team. Operating as a fully remote organisation, with occasional travel to clinical sites, this is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative environment where you will play a key role in building and delivering clinical operations capabilities.
The successful candidate will join at an important stage of development, supporting the transition from early clinical development into future Phase II programmes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Trial Manager to support the successful execution of ongoing and future clinical trials.
This is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operational management of clinical studies, including oversight of CROs and external vendors, ensuring trials are delivered according to timelines, quality standards, and applicable European regulations.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Clinical Trial Manager will play a critical role in supporting first-in-human study delivery and contributing to the company’s expanding clinical development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operational activities of assigned clinical trials.
- Oversee CROs and external vendors to ensure effective study delivery.
- Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of clinical trial activities.
- Ensure clinical studies are conducted in compliance with GCP, EU regulations, and relevant guidelines.
- Manage study timelines, milestones, risks, and operational challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support successful trial execution.
- Support site-related activities, including investigator site interactions and occasional site visits.
- Contribute to the continued development of clinical operations processes within a growing biotech environment.
- Provide operational support as programmes progress into later-stage clinical development, including potential Phase II trials.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience
- Strong experience in clinical trial management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing clinical studies from an operational perspective.
- Experience supporting or leading first-in-human clinical trials.
- Experience managing CROs and external clinical vendors.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, GCP, and European regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced, and evolving organisation.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting later-stage clinical development programmes, including Phase II trials.
- Experience working within a biotech or emerging company environment.
- Experience across multiple phases of clinical development.
Background
- A life sciences background is required.
- A medical background (MD or equivalent) would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience in neurology or related therapeutic areas is beneficial but not required.
