What they need

Bring your clinical trials experience to a role with ownership, variety and meaningful participant contact.

NZRSI Clinical Research is the dedicated research division of NZ Respiratory & Sleep Institute, conducting commercial and investigator-led clinical studies from our Greenlane, Auckland site. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Study Coordinator to join our team.

This role will suit someone who enjoys taking responsibility, understands what makes a study run well, and brings both attention to detail and a warm approach to participants. You’ll have your own studies to coordinate, while working closely with investigators and colleagues across the research team.

The opportunity

You’ll be involved throughout the study lifecycle, taking charge of the full start-up process and managing the practical detail that keeps studies progressing safely and effectively.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating feasibility assessments, ethics submissions, study documentation, training and site activation. Once studies are underway, you’ll manage recruitment, participant visits and follow-up, maintain accurate source records and study data, and coordinate monitoring visits through to close-out.

You’ll also contribute actively to study costing and budget preparation, working alongside Finance and the research lead. A good understanding of trial budgets, payment schedules and the relationship between study activity and costs will be important.

You will manage your own studies from start-up—including HDEC submissions, budget and contract negotiations, site initiation meetings, and investigator meeting attendance—through to close-out.

You will also help improve processes, share your knowledge and contribute to the way our research team works. You will be given training in budgets and contracts if required.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for proven clinical study coordination experience, including the ability to manage assigned studies independently and take responsibility for start-up.

You’ll have a sound working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, informed consent, participant safety and protocol requirements. You’ll be comfortable using electronic data capture systems, resolving queries and working with sponsors and monitors.

You’ll bring practical budgeting experience, strong organisation and the judgement to recognise when an issue needs attention. Just as importantly, you’ll communicate clearly, build trust with participants and colleagues, and enjoy being part of a small team where your contribution is visible and valued.

A relevant health or science qualification would be welcome, as would respiratory or sleep research experience. We also welcome experienced coordinators from other therapeutic areas.

Why NZRSI?

This is an opportunity to combine independent study coordination with close working relationships in a specialist clinical setting. You’ll see the contribution of your work—from helping a study get underway to supporting participants and delivering reliable research data.

Our values of Warmth, Openness, Excellence and Empowerment guide how we care for people, communicate and work together.

Apply with your CV and a cover letter telling us about the studies you’ve coordinated, your start-up and budgeting experience, and what interests you about joining NZRSI.
