What they need

Purpose - The Clinician provides direct clinical care within the intensive outpatient program and is responsible for helping clients engage in evidence-based treatment, complete exposure work, reduce symptoms, build skills, involve family supports when appropriate, and progress toward clinically indicated discharge. This role protects treatment fidelity through active ERP-focused care, clear documentation, risk monitoring, and collaboration with the treatment team.

Key Performance Indicators and Reporting

  • Support facility symptom-reduction and client-satisfaction targets through active, evidence-based treatment delivery.
  • Complete 100% of assigned documentation accurately and within required timelines.
  • Ensure assigned clients have current treatment plans, exposure lists, progress updates, outcome measures, discharge planning, and risk documentation as required.
  • Maintain strong attendance, engagement, and exposure-completion follow-up for assigned clients.
  • Complete assigned groups, individual sessions, family sessions, treatment-team participation, and check-ins according to schedule.
  • Escalate risk, lack of progress, treatment avoidance, family barriers, and discharge concerns promptly to site leadership.
  • Participate in training, supervision, audits, and corrective-action plans as assigned.

Upon achieving these key performance indicators, your supervisor will meet with you to review progress and collaborate on establishing new performance goals that reflect continued growth and excellence.

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrate competence in ERP-focused treatment for OCD and anxiety, including exposure planning, response prevention, uncertainty work, and reduction of accommodation.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead groups, hold focused sessions, complete behavioral health assessments, develop treatment plans, and create exposure lists with clients.
  • Demonstrate ability to document clearly, efficiently, and in a manner that supports medical necessity and continuity of care.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete suicide/risk assessments, follow safety protocols, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Demonstrate humility, coachability, professional ethics, client-centered care, and willingness to work as part of a team.

Core Responsibilities - These duties may vary depending on job assignments and Company needs.

  • Provide direct clinical services to assigned clients, including groups, individual sessions, family work, exposure coaching, treatment planning, risk assessment, and discharge planning.
  • Create, update, and execute individualized exposure lists and response-prevention plans that align with client goals, diagnosis, functioning, and treatment stage.
  • Lead exposure-focused groups and skills groups according to Company standards and ensure clients are actively engaged in therapeutic work.
  • Complete behavioral health assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, risk documentation, outcome-measure review, and discharge documentation accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with BHTs, BHT Leads, BHT Supervisor, Associate Program Director, Program Director, admissions, utilization, and families to support client progress.
  • Monitor client engagement, attendance, homework completion, safety, family accommodation, avoidance, and response-prevention integrity.
  • Escalate client deterioration, suicidality, self-harm, safety concerns, abuse/neglect concerns, medical concerns, or significant family conflict immediately according to protocol.
  • Participate in treatment-team meetings, case consultation, supervision, training, audits, and performance-development activities.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical practice, and compliance with all Company, licensure, payer, and documentation requirements.
  • Support a facility culture of doing, exposure completion, kindness, accountability, and clinical urgency.

Required Qualifications

  • Master degree in a behavioral health, counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or related clinical field required.
  • Active license or associate license in good standing required as permitted by state law and Company policy.
  • Experience with OCD, anxiety, ERP, CBT, DBT skills, group therapy, family work, and intensive outpatient treatment preferred.
  • Ability to complete required documentation, risk assessment, treatment planning, and clinical communication within required timelines.
  • Completion of Company foundational training and role-specific training required within assigned timelines.
  • Must pass all required background checks and meet all Company, payer, licensing, and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Expertise

  • ERP treatment delivery, exposure-list development, group facilitation, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and client/family communication.
  • Ability to help clients engage in difficult therapeutic work without reinforcing avoidance or reassurance seeking.
  • Ability to manage time, caseload, documentation, meetings, and treatment priorities in a structured program setting.
  • Strong professional judgment, compassion, boundaries, teamwork, and responsiveness to supervision.
  • Ability to work actively on the treatment floor rather than remaining isolated in office-based work.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility during programming, meetings, groups, observations, and client-support activities.
  • Ability to use a computer, electronic health record, phone, video platform, and standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move office, clinical, or training materials up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodation as required by law.
  • Ability to work in a behavioral health environment that may include emotionally distressed clients, family conflict, crisis escalation, and time-sensitive decisions.
