We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Afternoon Closer to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and safe transition at the end of each day, maintaining a nurturing environment for children and supporting classroom staff. Duties

• Safely close the classroom, ensuring all children are accounted for and their belongings are secured
• Assist with end-of-day routines, including tidying up activities and preparing materials for the next day
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily updates, concerns, or important notices
• Support teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy education, math, physical education, and overall child development instruction
• Monitor children’s behavior using positive behavior management techniques to promote a respectful and inclusive environment
• Conduct safety checks around the classroom and outdoor areas, adhering to mandated reporting laws and child welfare standards
• Complete daily documentation such as incident reports, attendance logs, and activity summaries to ensure accurate record-keeping

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and classroom management techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are a plus
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, standardized testing, and preschool teaching methodologies
• Ability to work independently while collaborating seamlessly with staff members during shift transitions
• Demonstrated commitment to child welfare, safety protocols, and early childhood education best practices
