What they need
We are conducting a confidential search for a Cloud & Cybersecurity Engineering Director to lead cloud security architecture and engineering for a technology-driven organization based in Seattle. This is a director-level, hybrid role for a senior security leader who will own the strategy for securing multi-cloud infrastructure, identity, and application platforms at scale.
In this role, you will design and enforce cloud security architecture across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including network segmentation, identity and access management, and workload protection. You will lead threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response programs, and partner with engineering leadership to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. You will own security posture management (CSPM), zero-trust architecture rollout, and third-party/vendor risk assessments.
You will build and lead a team of cloud security and detection engineers, represent security in architecture review boards, and report risk posture to executive stakeholders. You will also drive compliance alignment with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and relevant regulatory frameworks, and lead tabletop exercises and incident post-mortems to continuously harden the environment.
Nice to Have:
- Experience securing Kubernetes and container-native workloads at enterprise scale
- Background in DevSecOps tooling and shift-left security practices
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security certifications)
- Experience leading incident response for a regulated or high-availability environment
- Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR platforms and threat intelligence integration
