Cloud Database Administrator / Production DBA

Role Overview

The Production DBA is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing production databases to ensure high availability, security, backup integrity, and data consistency. The role combines database administration, automation, cloud services management, production support,

and continuous improvement initiatives within a global enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, configure, deploy, and maintain database environments and cloud data services.
• Ensure database availability, backup, recovery, security, and performance optimization.
• Deploy and maintain secured and supported database engine versions.
• Implement automation and standardized administration processes.
• Monitor databases and troubleshoot production incidents as L2/L3 support.
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams on technical projects.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations regarding database solutions and architecture.
• Participate in production support and on-call rotation activities.
• Ensure compliance with IT security, governance, and operational policies.
• Contribute to process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience & Skills

• 2+ years of experience supporting IT production systems.
• Experience with databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sybase, MongoDB, or CosmosDB.
• Knowledge of DBaaS environments and database monitoring tools.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Liquibase.
• Knowledge of Databricks is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
