Environment:

Product team with responsibility for the operation and further development of cloud infrastructure of the Online Webshop of Tchibo

Technologies:

Google Cloud PlaIorm (GKE, IAM, VPC, Load Balancing, DNS, Secret Manager), Terraform,

GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps (Flux), Flagger, IsAoObservability (Datadog or GCP Monitoring)

Languages:

English, German is a plus

General Tasks:

• Infrastructure as Code: You will use Terraform to define and provision the underlying

cloud infra that powers the Kubernetes clusters, PostgreSQL databases and storage our

Online Shop lives on

• Kubernetes: You orchestrate and evolve our production environments using Helm and

GitOps workflows to keep the online business running smoothly

• Observability Engineering: You build a best-in-class monitoring stack using Datadog to

turn system data into actionable insights

• Agentic SRE: You pour your knowledge into the inhouse build SRE agent to provide

tailored and on-the-spot support to product teams or resolve issues on the fly

• Automation First: You replace “everything manual” with clever code building the tooling

that makes you deployments repeatable and self-healing

Experience and needed skills

• Cloud native: Proven experience with Kubernetes – you understand how pods, ingresses

and services interact.

• Hyperscaler: Deep knowledge of GCP (or AWS) services and their pros and cons in action

• Provisioning: Expert-level knowledge of Terraform – you know how to manage states,

write modular code and automate changes on infra level

• Persistence: You have seen PostgreSQL in productive environments, especially High

Availability (HA) or backup/recovery strategies

• Scripting: You have seen and used Shell, Bash or Golang

• Up for the long run: You are ready to support the teams On-Call-Rotation (weekly)

Nice-to-have

• Experience with GitOps tools (Flux, Flagger)

• Knowledge of Helm/Kustomize, Istio (service mesh)

• Experience with SRE practices (SLOs, SLIs, Error Budgets)

• Basic knowledge of FinOps or cost optimization

• Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, PolicyController)
