Cloud Engineer (Azure) (Contractor)

About the role

Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure cloud resources. Support day-to-day cloud operations, incident management, and troubleshooting activities, and participate in cloud migration and modernization projects under senior engineer guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud resources
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications to ensure system availability and performance
• Support day-to-day cloud operations, incident management, and troubleshooting activities
• Provision and manage Azure resources such as Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, App Services and Azure Kubernetes
• Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, and governance policies
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities using Azure services
• Participate in cloud migration and modernization projects under senior engineer guidance
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python
• Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in cloud computing, system administration, infrastructure support, or IT operations
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud computing concepts
• Familiarity with Azure Virtual Machine, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure App Services, Azure Backup, Azure Kubernetes and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration
• Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, and firewalls
• Familiarity with Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and PowerShell
• Understanding of cloud security principles and identity management concepts
• Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell and Azure CLI
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
