Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer / Lead Cloud Engineer | AWS, SRE & DevOps | Up to JPY 11M

I am supporting a fast-growing SaaS and AI company that is looking to hire a Cloud Engineer / Lead Cloud Engineer to strengthen its Cloud Engineering team.

This position supports multiple SaaS and AI products while working across Infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE . Depending on your experience and career aspirations, you may be considered at either the Senior or Lead level.

What You Will Do

• Design, operate, and continuously improve AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Maintain and develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CDK
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Enhance observability using tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, and Sentry
• Handle incidents, root cause analysis, and postmortems
• Define and operate SLI/SLO frameworks
• Automate operational processes and improve developer experience
• Visualize and optimize cloud costs
• Depending on seniority, define technical roadmaps, lead architecture decisions, and drive cross-functional initiatives

Senior Cloud Engineer

At the Senior level, you will focus on the operation and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure, including automation, monitoring, CI/CD, and incident response.

This opportunity is well suited to someone who wants to leverage their AWS experience while expanding into SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering .

Lead Cloud Engineer

At the Lead level, you will drive the technical roadmap for Cloud Engineering, improve cloud architecture, establish SRE practices, enhance developer experience, and lead cloud cost optimization initiatives.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who wants to remain technically hands-on while taking ownership of technical decision-making and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Experience operating, building, or designing infrastructure on AWS or another major cloud platform
• Knowledge of Linux and networking fundamentals
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or another IaC tool
• Experience with CI/CD implementation or operations
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-response capabilities
• Business conversational Japanese
• For the Lead level, experience in technical leadership, architecture design, project leadership, or cross-functional delivery

Compensation and Working Style

• Annual salary: JPY 5.04M to JPY 11M Senior level: JPY 5.04M to JPY 8.04M
• Lead level: JPY 8.04M to JPY 11M
• Location: Tokyo or Osaka
• Hybrid working model
• Office attendance recommended once per week
• Flextime system
• Core hours: 10:00 to 16:00
