Cloud Engineer Intern

CloudMile is a start-up team which enables clients to solve most mission-critical challenges by leveraging top-notch artificial intelligence, cloud and security technologies with leading vendors in the markets.

As a Cloud Engineer Intern at CloudMile, you will gain hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and scaling modern cloud infrastructure. Working under the guidance of senior cloud engineers, solution architects, and DevOps professionals, you will assist in deploying automated pipelines, writing infrastructure code, and supporting containerized workloads across public cloud platforms. This role offers an opportunity to learn industry best practices while making direct contributions to real-world client solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers in designing, building, and maintaining cloud environments, primarily on AWS and GCP.
• Assist in building and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab or GitHub to support automated deployments.
• Learn and write basic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to support modular and version-controlled infrastructure.
• Support the management and monitoring of containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Assist in logging, observability, and root-cause analysis for infrastructure issues, and write documentation for technical solutions.
• Actively participate in cross-functional team discussions, code reviews, and technical knowledge-sharing sessions.

Requirements

• Final-year student or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of public cloud concepts (AWS or GCP) and Linux system administration.
• Basic exposure or practical experience in:
• Infrastructure automation and CI/CD concepts using GitLab or GitHub.
• Writing basic Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tools.
• Containerized workloads using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Basic proficiency in scripting or development using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Basic grasp of networking principles (DNS, TCP/IP, subnets) and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work within a team and under senior guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer).
• Hands-on exposure to Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes through university coursework, lab environments, personal projects, or previous internship experience.
• Basic understanding of cloud security concepts and DevSecOps best practices.
