Business Background

Join Apple’s ASE Traffic team to build and scale the secure service mesh infrastructure that powers Apple’s core consumer services, including iCloud, App Store, iTunes, and Apple TV. This contract role focuses on infrastructure expansion and migration onto Alibaba Cloud, building reliable, secure, and automated cloud-native networking systems for global Apple traffic.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to support the qualification, automation, and deployment of Apple’s service mesh across multi-cloud environments. You will bootstrap new AliCloud infrastructure, build CI/CD pipelines, operationalize distributed systems, and enable secure mesh identity via PKI infrastructure. This is a hands-on role covering deployment automation, cloud networking, monitoring, and security tooling.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deploy existing applications into cloud-orchestrated environments on AliCloud
• Operationalize large-scale distributed systems with metrics, Grafana dashboards, and alerting
• Build and automate qualification environments across multiple cloud platforms
• Design and maintain production & integration deployment pipelines
• Bootstrap PKI/X.509 certificate infrastructure to enable secure service mesh identities
• Drive adoption of testing, qualification, and automation tooling across internal teams

Required Qualifications

• Solid experience with RHEL Linux environment operation
• Strong networking fundamentals: VPC, IPv4/IPv6 routing
• Hands-on experience with OCI container build & operation
• Familiar with SDLC, observability, metrics and alerting with Grafana

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building Spinnaker deployment pipelines (approval flow, automated testing, rollback)
• Knowledge of secure service mesh: Istio Ambient Mesh, Ztunnel
• PKI / X.509 certificate authority and certificate signing experience
• Basic Rust / C programming ability to compile and extend existing projects
• Multi-cloud infrastructure migration and automation experience
