Cloud Operations Engineer

About the role

Imagineeer is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to operate a contractor-provided cloud sandbox used to integration-test commercial acquisition tools for a federal civilian department. You will keep the environment running, provision tool integrations and mock system-of-record interfaces, and generate the synthetic data the pilot runs on.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain the sandbox environment day to day.
• Provision tool integrations and mock interfaces for the AMS/PRISM contract writing environment, FPDS-NG, and SAM.gov.
• Generate and manage synthetic and de-identified test data.
• Support configuration of pilot and production tools and keep infrastructure-as-code current.
• Support hosting assessments of candidate tools.
• Work with The contractor-provided sandbox in a FedRAMP-authorized cloud region, with mock AMS/PRISM, FPDS-NG, and SAM.gov interfaces and synthetic data
• Infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tooling
• API mocking and synthetic data generation tools

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 or more years of cloud engineering or DevOps experience.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs and creating mock services.
• Experience operating environments under security baselines such as NIST SP 800-53.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

• AWS or Azure associate-level certification or higher.

• Experience generating synthetic data sets for testing.

• Experience in FedRAMP-authorized or government cloud regions.

The pay range for this role is:
135,000 - 140,000 USD per year(Hybrid)
