Cloud Ops Engineer II

For our client, we are seeking a Cloud Ops Engineer II to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will support the stability, automation, and scalability of cloud environments that enable business operations across the organization. The ideal candidate will partner closely with development teams to improve deployment workflows, reduce manual toil, and keep cloud services running reliably. This position also contributes to emerging AI-enabled automation efforts within the cloud operations function.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Automate cloud infrastructure tasks using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
• Monitor and maintain the health of cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments using GitHub Actions
• Build and integrate basic AI-agentic workflows to reduce manual toil in cloud operations
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of experience in cloud operations and automation
• Proficiency in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch
• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)
• Strong scripting and programming skills in Python and TypeScript
