Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architecture professional to provide cyber security leadership, risk oversight, and security-by-design guidance across a complex financial services environment.

This role will act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, helping to manage cyber risk, strengthen security controls, support audit and assurance activities, and ensure security requirements are embedded across business and technology initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine strong cloud and cyber security knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills, working closely with Risk, Finance, Treasury, Technology, and Corporate Functions to improve the organisation's overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior cyber security partner to business and technology teams, providing risk-based security guidance and architectural oversight.
• Own and manage cyber risk registers, ensuring risks are clearly identified, prioritised, assessed, and remediated.
• Lead cyber governance, control assurance, and audit readiness activities across multiple business functions.
• Coordinate risk assessments, control reviews, thematic assessments, and remediation programmes.
• Drive improvements across cloud security, identity and access management, privileged access, vulnerability management, threat management, and security monitoring.
• Support supplier and SaaS security reviews, ensuring appropriate controls are in place around access management, data protection, resilience, and operational risk.
• Embed security-by-design principles across cloud and technology delivery programmes.
• Provide risk-based input into solution designs, delivery plans, and technical architecture decisions.
• Support major incidents and cyber security events, providing technical leadership and stakeholder coordination.
• Produce executive-level reporting and management information for governance forums and senior leadership teams.
• Translate technical cyber risks into clear business impacts and actionable recommendations.
• Work closely with Architecture, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to improve control effectiveness and reduce risk exposure.
• Ensure regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements are understood and effectively managed.

Required Experience

• Strong experience in Cloud Security, Cyber Security Architecture, Information Security, Cyber Risk, or Security Governance roles.
• Proven background working within Financial Services , Banking, Insurance, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience managing cyber risk, security controls, remediation plans, audit activities, and governance processes.
• Good understanding of cloud security principles across AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), vulnerability management, logging, monitoring, and security operations.
• Experience supporting business and technology stakeholders at senior management level.
• Ability to translate technical security issues into business-focused outcomes.
• Strong governance, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
