Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

IMPORTANT: This position is contingent upon Spinks Technologies, Inc. being awarded a pending government contract for managed cybersecurity services. Employment offers and start dates for this role are contingent upon contract award notification.

About the Role

Spinks Technologies, Inc. is a cloud engineering, AI automation, and cybersecurity solutions provider serving government, healthcare, and enterprise clients, headquartered in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Our team designs and operates AWS-native security architectures, AI-augmented monitoring, and compliance programs for clients operating in regulated environments. We are building our cybersecurity delivery team in support of a pending managed cybersecurity services engagement for a hospital system in the Caribbean, protecting clinical and administrative systems across a hybrid on-premises, private cloud, and Microsoft 365 environment. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the AWS-native security architecture and AI-agent automation pipeline that powers our managed detection and response service — including detection tooling, compliance automation, and client-facing security dashboards.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain AWS security tooling: GuardDuty, Security Hub, Detective, Inspector, Security Lake, Config/Audit Manager
• Develop and maintain Amazon Bedrock-based AI agents for alert triage, vulnerability prioritization, and automated reporting
• Build and maintain client-facing security posture and SLA dashboards (Amazon QuickSight)
• Implement identity and access controls (IAM Identity Center) and perimeter defenses (WAF, Shield, Firewall Manager)
• Support integration between AWS-native tooling and any client-owned third-party security tools
• Partner with the SOC Manager and GRC Lead to ensure the architecture supports compliance and audit requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering, with hands-on AWS experience required
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, scripting/automation (Python preferred), and API integrations
• Working knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS Controls)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or integrating with generative AI / LLM-based tooling (Amazon Bedrock or similar)
• Experience in healthcare, government, or other regulated industries
• CISSP or CISM a plus

Pay: $115,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
