Cloud Security Project Engineer (Client-Facing Professional Services)

About the Role

We are looking for a Cloud Security Project Engineer to join our team and support cloud security implementations for enterprise customers in the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region.

This is a hands-on technical and client-facing role. You will work with customers, partners, and internal teams to implement, troubleshoot, and support cloud security solutions.

You don't need to be a pure Project Manager. We are looking for someone with a strong background in networking, cloud security, firewalls, proxies, or security technologies who is also comfortable communicating with customers and managing multiple projects.

Experience with Netskope is a strong advantage, but candidates with experience in similar technologies such as Zscaler, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, or other SASE/SSE platforms are welcome to apply.

What You'll Do

• Manage multiple customer implementation projects from kickoff to completion.
• Work with customers and partners to understand their technical requirements and deployment needs.
• Lead or support technical meetings, workshops, and implementation sessions.
• Configure, implement, and troubleshoot cloud security solutions.
• Work with technologies such as SASE, SSE, SWG, CASB, ZTNA, and DLP.
• Support traffic steering, proxy, PAC file, VPN, IPsec/GRE tunnel, and SSL/TLS configurations.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, traffic steering, PAC file, SSL inspection, and security policy issues.
• Coordinate with Sales, Support, Engineering, Professional Services, and Partners to keep projects moving.
• Track project activities, timelines, milestones, and technical deliverables.
• Handle customer questions and technical issues and escalate when needed.
• Support customers during implementation and hyper-care after deployment.
• Coordinate with global teams when additional technical support is required.
• Help identify improvements to technical implementation and customer delivery processes.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when representing the company.
• Follow established security, implementation, and project delivery processes.

What We're Looking ForTechnical Experience

• 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Cloud Security
• Network Security
• Network Engineering
• Firewall Administration
• Proxy / Gateway Technologies
• Cybersecurity
• SASE / SSE
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure is an advantage.
• Good understanding of networking concepts such as:
• TCP/IP
• DNS
• Routing
• VPN
• Firewalls
• Security Groups
• Proxy
• SSL/TLS
• Familiarity with SASE/SSE, SWG, CASB, ZTNA, or DLP.
• Experience with IPsec/GRE tunnels, PAC files, traffic steering, or SSL inspection is a plus.
• Netskope experience is highly preferred, but experience with similar security platforms is welcome.

Project & Customer Skills

• Experience handling customer implementations, technical projects, or client accounts.
• Comfortable managing several tasks or projects at the same time.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers and technical teams.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to explain technical issues in a simple and clear way.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to learn new technologies and processes.

Nice to Have

• Netskope certifications or hands-on Netskope experience
• Zscaler, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco experience
• SASE/SSE implementation experience
• Cloud security certifications
• Experience supporting customers in Australia or New Zealand
• Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements such as Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), New Zealand Privacy Act, GDPR, PCI, or PII
