Cloud Solution Architect (Cloud + AI Apps Innovation)

Overview

As a Cloud Solution Architect, you’ll play an instrumental role in helping customers migrate, modernize and transform their architecture and applications, laying the groundwork for world-class, scalable, production-ready AI solutions.

You’ll be a trusted advisor, working directly with customer IT and business leaders to shape their transformation strategy, architect secure and scalable solutions, and deliver measurable business impact. From designing roadmaps to leading Proof of Concepts and MVPs, you’ll help customers build and run intelligent applications and AI agents at scale. Your expertise will guide customers through critical milestones, leveraging proven IP and delivery engines to accelerate adoption and unlock value.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with key customer IT and business decision makers to drive long-term cloud adoption, understand their business objectives, priorities and success measures, and design secure, scalable, AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• Lead architectural design sessions and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient application and AI solutions aligned to customer business goals, using frameworks like the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF), Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
• Get hands-on: write code, build prototypes and MVPs, and co-develop with customer and partner engineering teams to fast-start and de-risk projects.
• Own the end-to-end technical delivery results, ensuring completeness and accuracy of consumption and customer success plans in collaboration with the account team.
• Take ownership of customer outcomes with a sense of urgency, driving issues to resolution across customer, partner and multinational Microsoft teams.
• Drive migration and modernization initiatives, including committed proof of concept and production milestones, across application and AI workloads.
• Deliver repeatable intellectual property (IP) to achieve targeted outcomes, accelerate Azure adoption and consumption, and contribute to centralized IP development initiatives.
• Provide delivery oversight and escalation support for key strategic engagements across application and AI workloads.
• Identify and resolve technical blockers to accelerate go-live, and serve as the Voice of the Customer, sharing feedback and insights with Microsoft engineering teams to influence product improvements.
• Drive technical excellence by leading the health, resiliency, security, and optimization of mission-critical application and AI workloads, ensuring readiness for production-scale AI use cases.
• Achieve and maintain certifications in priority Cloud & AI Apps workloads.
• Maintain deep technical expertise and stay current with market trends, competitive insights, and Microsoft’s evolving application and AI capabilities.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset by continuously learning, contributing to technical communities, sharing best practices and mentoring others to accelerate customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on software development experience: you have designed, written and shipped production code (e.g. C#/.NET, Python, Java, TypeScript), with solid engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and infrastructure as code.
• Customer-facing experience, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work across multinational teams.
• Business fluency in English.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Practical experience of software development and/or solution architecture experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing and delivering secure, scalable cloud-native and AI applications on Azure (e.g. Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, App Service, Container Apps, AKS, Functions, API Management).
• Experience building AI agents and RAG solutions, and with GitHub Copilot and agentic DevOps.
• Experience with Cosmos DB, Azure SQL or PostgreSQL.
• Azure or GitHub certifications (e.g. Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Azure AI Engineer Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert).

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Croatia is € 43,700.00 - € 79,600.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Slovenia is € 51,900.00 - € 90,500.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
