Cloud Technical Architect - Azure

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Technical Architect with a strong background in Microsoft Azure to join the Group Strategy and Architecture team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions to meet the needs of a highly regulated organisation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based solutions primarily based on Microsoft Azure technology.
• Be able to create detailed Low Level Design (LLD) documents in Microsoft Visio, to give engineers sufficient detail to execute against.
• Work with stakeholders and other architects to understand the business needs and provide technical guidance and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in cloud computing and related technologies.
• Manage other Technical Architects from 3rd party providers and offshore resource pools. Ensure the maintenance of a demand pipeline.
• Support the Cloud Strategic initiatives as required. With dotted lines into Cloud EA and Cloud Engineering.

Requirements

• Able to interpret conceptual/solutions designs which may be in Visio or Aris, and translate them into LLD based on pattern based translations.
• Able to apply a critical eye in the review of designs, to ensure alignment with strategic patterns.
• Experience working in a formalised governance model (such as an Architectural Review Board, or Design Authority construct).
• Able to evidence significant on the job experience in Cloud Computing, with a focus on Microsoft Azure
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and design principles.
• Experience with Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, Storage, and Networking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency in using Azure development and deployment tools
• Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
• Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies on Azure cloud.
• Knowledge of Azure security and compliance measures.
