Job Description: Cluster Head Health Insurance
Role Overview
The Cluster Head owns the overall business growth, revenue generation, operational efficiency, and team leadership across an assigned cluster of branches or partner networks. The primary objective is to drive retail or partner-channel health insurance sales, increase market penetration, ensure regulatory compliance, and build high-performing sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Target Achievement
- Revenue & Sales Targets: Take complete ownership of achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual gross written premium (GWP) targets and policy count metrics for the cluster.
- Product Mix Optimization: Drive sales across key segments, including retail health insurance, family floaters, senior citizen policies, critical illness riders, and group health products.
- Market Penetration: Analyze regional market trends, competitor mapping, and untapped opportunities within the cluster to expand market share.
2. Partner & Relationship Management (Bancassurance / Agency / Corporate)
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders—such as Bank Branch Managers, Regional Heads, corporate partners, or individual agents.
- Joint Business Planning: Formulate and execute joint business plans with partner networks to maximize branch activation and lead conversions.
- Review Meetings: Conduct regular performance review meetings with partners and local teams to address bottlenecks and accelerate output.
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Supervision & Mentorship: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Relationship Managers, Sales Officers, or Field Executives assigned to the cluster.
- Product Training: Coordinate with internal training departments to ensure partner staff and internal team members are fully trained on health insurance products, features, pitching, and objection handling.
- Productivity Tracking: Monitor daily activity metrics, branch coverage, and conversion ratios to optimize overall team output.
4. Operations, Customer Service & Compliance
- Process & Lead Management: Ensure smooth processing of proposals, proper documentation, and minimal turnaround time (TAT) for policy issuance.
- Post-Sales & Claims Support: Act as an escalation point for customer service, ensuring proper guidance on policy terms, renewals, and assisting with claim settlement facilitation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) guidelines, internal company policies, and statutory frameworks.
- MIS & Reporting: Maintain accurate management information systems (MIS) data and submit periodic business reports to regional or zonal leadership.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Graduate in any discipline; Post-graduation / MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Healthcare Management is preferred.
Experience:
Typically 5 to 10+ years of total experience in insurance sales, financial services, or allied sectors.
