KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee daily environmental laboratory operations
• Ensure efficient resource planning, capacity management, and workflow optimization
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead investments in laboratory equipment, technology, and infrastructure
• Ensure timely delivery of analytical results and reports

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agronomy or related natural sciences
• 7-10+ years of experience in environmental testing laboratories
• 2-5+ years in a leadership or management role
• Proven experience in:
• Water testing (drinking water, wastewater, groundwater)
• Soil and sediment analysis
• Environmental chemistry
• Experience managing laboratory operations, budgets, and teams
• Business fluent English and Croatian language skills (written and spoken)
• Preferred strong understanding of:
• ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Quality Management Systems
• Environmental monitoring programs
• Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Croatian environmental legislation
• EU environmental directives and regulations:
• Water Framework Directive
• Industrial Emissions Directive
• Waste Framework Directive
• REACH Regulation
• Environmental permitting requirements
