CMM Technician

About the role

To operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect and verify the dimensional accuracy of parts, tools, and components in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. The technician ensures compliance with quality standards and supports continuous improvement efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CMM equipment (e.g., Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon) for dimensional inspection of components.
• Perform part measurements based on GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Develop, modify, and run CMM programs using software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or others).
• Interpret CMM reports and communicate results to engineering, production, and quality teams.
• Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final part verification.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
• Perform manual inspection using hand tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) when required.
• Document and report non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis.
• Support PPAP, SPC, and capability studies when required.
• Follow all safety and 5S housekeeping practices.

About you

• Technical diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in dimensional inspection or metrology.
• Proficient in CMM programming (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Knowledge in IATF16949, 5S and basic safety, First Aid.
