• Responsible for the overall commodity sourcing and supplier management activities of Music Tribe, lead commodities suppliers RQF and contract negotiation.
• Develop and execute, with input and alignment of key internal stakeholders, a commodity sourcing strategy that meets quality, delivery, and cost objectives, and support Music Tribe’s business growth and maximizing leverage and buying power;
• Continuously optimize supplier base by supplier consolidation, identifying the new competitive source and support the cross functional team to develop the suppliers in conjunction with commodity strategies and Music Tribe’s business need.
• Support NPI activities, initiate RFQ and negotiate the cost and business terms with in charged commodity suppliers, support Samples and materials readiness for MP1.
• Establish and update potential supplier database by commodity and conduct cost benchmark analysis.
• Research commodity market intelligence and its industry & technology trend, monitor and report raw materials market price trend.
• Manage high level supplier relationships and conduct regular supplier business performance review, to continuously drive supplier innovation and minimize the potential business risk.
• Lead and drive the commodity management team & suppliers on cost reduction program by generating ideas, supporting activities, VAVE, etc.
• Work as escalation point when there is component on time delivery or Quality issues, coordinate with factory buyer and SQE.
• Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and developments affecting purchase and delivery of items procured. Conduct all business transactions consistent with Music Tribe’s Purchasing policies.
• Serve as Company and industry representative in the marketplace, working with trade associations, professional societies, and universities to develop information and contacts that will aid the purchasing function.
• Recommend, implement, and enforce corporate and department policies and procedures, get familiar with Ivalua E-procurement platform.
• Conduct all business transactions consistent with Music Tribe’s Purchasing ethical standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned, e.g., support advance product development purchasing activities. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with manufacturing and supply chain management experience/background.
• Minimum of 15 years of working experience in Sourcing and/or Purchasing in consumer electronics or Pro industry in a global multi-plants environment, also familiar with high mix low volume type of business.
• Solid experience in a variety of commodities procured from the global & local supply base. Either Electronics commodities (such as Active Semi, Passive, PCB, Interconnect, Power Supply, Display, etc.) or Mechanical commodities (such as Plastics & Resins, Metal, Die Casting, Packaging & Printing, Transducer components, etc.)
• Strong business sense and manner. The demonstrated capability to apply analytical techniques to problem solving;
• A proven track record of quickly learning a new sourcing environment and the ability to understand new technologies;
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills. Fluent in English speaking and writing.
