About the role

Maintenance technicians perform routine and emergency maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment, and facilities. This role focuses on ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate optimally while maintaining a safe and functional environment for building users.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance of air conditioning systems, electrical equipment, plumbing equipment, lighting systems, and building automation systems; maintain maintenance checklists and record all work performed; identify potential issues before they become major problems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders; diagnose and repair building system malfunctions including heating and cooling equipment, electrical circuits, plumbing systems, doors, locks, and general building infrastructure; replace damaged parts and components as needed
• Perform carpentry, painting, ceiling repairs, and general maintenance work; maintain building exteriors, surrounding areas, and common areas; change air filters, light bulbs, and other consumables; assist with relocations, renovations, and special projects
• Comply with all safety regulations and use personal protective equipment appropriately; maintain clean and orderly work areas; comply with building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies; report safety hazards immediately
• Complete work orders accurately in the maintenance management system; record equipment performance, repairs, and parts usage; report significant or recurring issues to maintenance supervisor
• Respond to emergency calls outside working hours on a rotating on-call basis; manage urgent maintenance issues including system failures, leaks, power outages, and safety problems

About you

• Vocational certificate or higher in electrical, mechanical, or related fields
• 5 years of experience in retail maintenance, nationwide retail operations, and nationwide mobile teams
• Knowledge of air conditioning systems, electrical systems, plumbing, painting, and vinyl tile replacement
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
• Basic computer skills for work order systems and email communication
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work from ladders or in confined spaces
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills for interacting with building owners and customers; attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship; flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts; customer service orientation and professional demeanor
