CMT Dispatcher – Houston, TX | Earth Engineering

Organized, dependable, and good at keeping track of a lot of moving pieces?

Earth Engineering is looking for a CMT Dispatcher to coordinate our field technicians and help keep our daily Construction Materials Testing operations running smoothly.

Previous CMT or construction experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train the right person.

This is an office-based position working directly with our Project Managers, field technicians, laboratory personnel, contractors, and clients. You'll be responsible for coordinating daily testing requests, assigning technicians, managing schedule changes, and maintaining clear records of field assignments and communications.

The right person is highly organized, comfortable communicating by phone and email, confident using computers, and able to stay on top of a changing schedule.

Responsibilities

Scheduling & Dispatch

• Schedule and dispatch field technicians to daily project assignments.
• Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate staffing needs.
• Receive and organize testing and inspection requests from contractors and clients.
• Prepare and maintain daily and upcoming field schedules.
• Handle cancellations, call-outs, schedule changes, and last-minute requests.
• Track technician assignments and availability throughout the day.
• Communicate assignments and schedule changes with technicians.
• Coordinate scheduling and arrival information with contractors and clients.
• Maintain clear electronic records of requests, assignments, and schedule changes.

Field Operations

• Coordinate vehicles, nuclear density gauges, and other equipment needed for daily assignments.
• Track equipment assignments and availability.
• Follow up with technicians regarding field reports and required documentation.
• Communicate operational issues to the appropriate Project Manager.
• Help improve scheduling and dispatch procedures as you learn the operation.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Clear and professional communication by phone, email, and text.
• Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and scheduling systems.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly when schedules change.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable communicating with field employees, contractors, clients, and management.
• Previous experience in dispatching, scheduling, construction, logistics, field services, customer service, or office coordination is a plus.
• Previous Construction Materials Testing experience is a plus, but not required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and reliably report to our Houston office.
