E-drive Unit development based on BMW process including electrical, mechanical, efficiency and function design/simulation. o

New technology scouting to ensure BMW e-drive unit is always state-of-art in the market. o

Innovation project management. E-drive Unit Development

• Technical scouting/evaluation of E-drive Unit (EDU) suppliers and sub-suppliers for R&D capabilities, technology know-how & future trend, innovation ideas based on BMW process. Including system, module and component level such as E-drive Unit, stator, rotor, silicon steel raw material, si-steel stamping, copper wire, housing, speed sensor etc.
• Market analysis and market screening for local suppliers in China and Asia in cooperation with the purchasing, quality and logistic department.
• Lead the E-drive development based on the BMW process and component requirement. Deliver the target function according to the development timeline.
• Central interface for interpretation of E-drive Unit relative requirements and standards specification and implementation in the supplier side, furthermore, lead the specification drafting for future project.
• Lead for the e-drive unit technical design and result evaluation of supplier, electromagnetic design, mechanical design, thermos design, NVH design etc..
• Lead for the e-drive unit functional development with supplier, cooling, efficiency evaluation, performance evaluation, energetic & heat magt. of e-drive unit system.
• Lead BMW future innovation project run successfully with supplier, timeline management, documentation and reporting.
• Formulate E-drive Unit timing plan schedules. Interpretation and assessment of development progress and test results from suppliers. Assess and evaluate development steps, take corrective action if necessary.
• Lead for E-drive Unit tear down failure analysis from system validation, route cause finding and counter measure definition, problem solving. 2.2.3 Qualification:

2.2.3.1 Basic Qualification Requirements

• Chinese native speaker and very good in spoken and written English. German is a plus.
• More than 5 years of e-drive unit developing experience, preferred in the field of automotive inverter domain.
• Master’s degree or above in automotive /mechanical engineering/ electronic engineering / mechatronic or similar.
• Experience for the e-drive unit technical design and evaluation, electromagnetic design, mechanical design, thermos design, NVH design ect.
• Project management experience in the hybrid/electrification environment, familiar BMW project magt. process is a plus.
• Rich knowledge in mechanical engineering and manufacturing process, good in mechanical drawings making and analysis.
• Rich knowledge in E-drive Unit and sub-component validation, system performance testing, system and components reliability/durability test.
• BMW process knowledge in component function development, simulation, calibration and/or testing, ideally for HV component development in electrical powertrain is prefered.
• Be able to react fast due to situation/condition change on site. Be able to analyze and find solution independently.
• Very good communication skill, good at cross function working and coordination, strategic and analytic thinking and acting.
• Capable of working under stress, be able to travel long time.
• Good driving skill.
