• Be the responsible engineer for all fasteners, joining technologies that include metal and plastic commodities.
• Be responsible for the defined work content by Project Manager.
• Scope of the role includes projects at any stage of a project lifecycle from feasibility phase, concept phase, series development as well as production.
• Scope of the role includes non-program specific R&D like database maintenance, knowledge management, and internal training.
• Responsible for setting part mass, cost, and attribute targets.
• Build a solid bond with manufacturing team and be one of the voices for DFM initiatives.
• Create fastener 3D and drawings using CATIA and Teamcenter
• Perform fastener calculations and analysis, then guide system/component engineers in their design.
• Perform technical sign-off on all joints throughout the entire vehicle.
• Verify and validate the requirements for joints including critical ones.
• Deliver results with agreed timing and quality requirements, whist balancing priorities between all stakeholders. Qualification: 1. 5+ year experience in fastener design and development, including metal and plastic.
• Intermediate proficiency in working English.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical discipline
• Have developed, from cradle to grave, parts or technologies pertaining to fasteners.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 Part Design, Assembly Design, Drawing, and DMU
• Have in-depth knowledge of automotive product development, including creating requirements, DVPs, DFMEA, GD&T, component, and vehicle testing and other fundamental system engineering principles.
• Ability to navigate the complexities of a start-up and deliver projects on time, at cost, and at quality standards that are expected in the automotive industry.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• PC literate and proficient with the use of MS Office products.
• Could accommodate business travel within 20%
