About the role

This role involves testing and developing cosmetic product formulations at laboratory and pilot scale levels to validate raw material specifications and ensure products meet customer requirements and stability standards. You will evaluate raw materials, review supplier documentation and certificates of analysis, conduct product testing, and prepare or revise product-related documentation. You will also provide consultation on production issues and maintain laboratory equipment and measurement instruments to required standards.

Key responsibilities

• Test customer product formulas at laboratory and pilot scale to validate raw material specifications and ensure products meet customer requirements and stability standards
• Present new raw material options and alternatives to relevant teams for cost reduction projects, and monitor project outcomes
• Select raw materials, evaluate related documentation and certificates of analysis (COA) from suppliers, conduct raw material testing, and approve raw material specifications when changes occur
• Prepare and revise documents related to product formulas, including raw material specifications and product specifications
• Provide consultation and assist in improving and resolving production issues for own formulas and subordinates
• Maintain, calibrate, and monitor laboratory equipment and measurement instruments to required standards

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Science (cosmetic science, chemistry, or related field)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in cosmetic product research and development
• Ability to develop products and solve problems logically, and operate laboratory equipment and measurement instruments
• Knowledge and understanding of quality systems including GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22716, and Halal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Canva, Outlook)
• English communication skills (listening, speaking, writing, and reading at a level that enables understanding)
• Ability to manage work systems efficiently
• Ability to supervise subordinate staff
• Attention to detail, observant, and creative thinking
• Responsibility and accountability for assigned duties and work
