About the role

This role involves planning and managing raw material requirements to support production schedules and customer orders, coordinating with purchasing, production, and warehouse departments to ensure materials are available on time and in the correct quantities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan material requirements (MRP): calculate and plan the use of raw materials, components, and equipment in line with production schedules and customer orders
• Monitor and control raw material stock: check remaining stock levels, analyse usage rates, and determine safety stock to prevent stockouts or overstocking
• Coordinate with the purchasing department: issue purchase requisitions with required delivery dates and track delivery status from purchasing and shipping to ensure materials arrive according to production plans
• Coordinate with production and warehouse departments: work closely with production management to adjust purchasing and receiving plans for production schedule changes, and coordinate with the warehouse on material receipt, issuance, and verification of quantity and specification accuracy
• Analyse and resolve immediate issues: manage problems with late or non-compliant materials by finding solutions or proposing alternative materials in coordination with production and purchasing departments
• Prepare reports: summarise material status reports, slow-moving or dead stock reports, and material usage results for management
