Job Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company’s manufacturing business, including cost accounting, budget tracking, financial statement preparation, and tax compliance, to ensure the accuracy of financial operations and compliance with local Malaysian regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning Support

Assist in gathering data required for financial planning and operational objectives; keep abreast of updates to local tax policies and industry trends in Malaysia to support management reviews.

2. Cost Accounting and Control

Responsible for day-to-day cost accounting in the manufacturing sector (raw materials, labour, manufacturing overheads, etc.); prepare regular cost variance analysis reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting Support

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor the monthly budget execution across departments; collate basic data and financial indicators to support regular operational forecasting reports.

4. Financial Reporting and Analysis

Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flow statement) on time; extract and calculate key performance indicators required by management, such as gross profit margin, inventory turnover ratio and capacity utilisation rate.

5. Financial and Tax Management

Monitor day-to-day cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for production and operations; prepare Malaysian tax return documentation (corporate income tax, Sales and Services Tax (SST), customs duties) and assist with the filing of tax returns.

6. Cross-departmental Collaboration

Collaborate with departments such as Production, Procurement and Supply Chain to provide financial support.

Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accountancy or a related discipline; preference will be given to candidates holding professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA or MIA.

Work Experience:

1. 2–4 years’ experience as an Accounting/Finance Specialist; experience in the manufacturing sector or in auditing at an accountancy firm would be an advantage.

2. Proficient in the use of financial software (SQL, Kingdee, etc.) and highly skilled in data analysis using Excel.

3. Good communication skills; fluent in English, Chinese and Malay, with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
